About Pax Natura

Peace With Nature

This tapestry of diversity at the very heart of nature is whole, indivisible, and manifests in the countless interconnections of each and every part.

Our human family is but one thread in this interwoven fabric and yet mirrors, as do all its parts, the grandeur of the natural world and the organizing power of nature.

We have an inherent right and solemn responsibility to live peacefully, not only with each other, but with every expression of nature’s bounty in the eternal web of life.

Our Mission is Our Work

Pax Natura works to promote and protect the ecological health and well being of the natural world through a diverse set of initiatives such as agro-ecology, avoided deforestation carbon credits (REDD), renewable-energy development, biodiversity conservation, watershed protection, exposing the risks of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and by joining in partnerships with other conservation organizations.

Beginnings

In the fall of 1996, The International Ecotourism Society invited Randall Tolpinrud and William Connelly to a conference in Costa Rica. The goal was to help establish guidelines for their emerging ecotourism industry which had taken root in it’s rainforests.

Our Board of Trustees

The Pax Natura trustees, honorary trustees, founding members, and honorary chairs all contribute in part to the weath of depth and talent that guides our organization.
